E2W - Every Two Weeks

E2W is an expanding platform of Expanding Academy, where students and alumni can host evening events for their peers with the support of both, the Student Council and Expanding Academy.  Alumni and students explore how bureaucratic procedures can be transformed into a proactive space for generating creative disruptions inside an institution. .

The E2W platform acts as a stepping stone to support interventions without the fog of paperwork and insurance problems. 

The format is very simple. A student/Alumni hosts an evening every second week (depending on whether there is availability at the school). It can be, without any restriction, workshops, interviews, performances, collective sculpting sessions, music events, and exhibitions. The host creates a poster and a short description to promote the event, E2W provides the logistics. 

By the end of May 7 of 9 events have been organised in the Temple: AT THE ACADEMY, HOT TAKES, STEP-BY-STEP, BEDRUIKT DEPRESSED, WIND-UP POETRY, GEPLANDE WERKEN, ITCHY PHENOMENA

E2W has been initiated in dialogue with Alumni Jackson Shallcross-Platt in partnership with Student Council, intending E2W to be a Student Council project going into 2024. Jackson’s intention was to provide a platform that encourages collaboration across the different departments initiated with students/alumni and people from Antwerp. It has been inspired by the recent Academy evaluation that shed light on the need for more community-driven projects.
